A group of 2nd graders from Christa McAuliffe Elementary in Highland Village hosted a Heart to Heart fundraiser benefiting the Children’s Advocacy Center for Denton County (CACDC).  Emma Francis, Audrey Glenn, Kailey Karchaske, Zach McClarnon, Collier Mershon, Sierra Scott, and Joseph Suarez are the enterprising youngsters that raised $903.00 for the center.  They invited their entire school to play at Boomerangs in Flower Mound. Not only was there lots of jumping fun but several fantastic items were raffled off. Contributing companies were Boomerangs, Brilliant Sky Toys and Books, Excite, Nestle Toll House Highland Village, Winkids, Little Caesars Lewisville, First Community Mortgage, Forrest Francis Construction, Frilly's South Cajun Restaurant, Solerno's Restaurant, Sweet and Sassy Highland Village, and Sallee Photography. A special thanks to the McAuliffe principal, Jennifer Mattingly, who graciously raffled herself and lunch to one lucky student. The Children's Advocacy Center is held near and dear to the hearts of these children and McAuliffe Elementary. 

     CACDC is a non-profit organization and provides justice and healing for severely abused children by coordinating a team approach to the investigation, prosecution, and treatment of child abuse cases. The CACDC is a child friendly place where children and their non-offending family members come to receive services needed for their situation, such as interviews, crisis intervention, support services, referrals for medical services and counseling. The center’s first annual gala fundraiser, Champions for Children, will be held at Circle ‘R’ Ranch in Flower Mound on February 20, 2010 at 7 p.m.  Guests will be served exquisite cuisine by local renown chefs such as Morris Salerno, while taking pictures and receiving autographs from their favorite sports celebrities such as Tony Casillas, Dat Nguyen and Jose Guzman.
