By Chris Searcy - Upper School Youth Pastor
First of all, on behalf of Student Ministries, I just want to say a big THANK YOU for all of your support that we have received for our Uganda Jeans Days over the past two years. Every penny has been used to help sponsor orphaned children, build buildings for their elementary school and orphanage, as well as help purchase land to build a new high school and build homes for the homeless. This semester, however, we are focusing our jeans day support towards our Spring Break trip to Honduras. We have over 100 upper school students here at Liberty that are giving up their Spring Break to serve some small communities outside of San Pedro Sula, Honduras while working with Habitat for Humanity, as well as share the gospel of Jesus Christ while performing the evangelistic drama, "The Journey" in streets, schools, churches, and slums.
We feel that these Jeans Days are a great chance for you to help out some of these kids that are having trouble raising funds during these tough economic times. If you would like to give towards a specific student or adult, go to www.libertychristian.com/missions and click on their name, then click "Donate Now" at the bottom of the screen for a tax deductible online gift. Thank you for your continued support of our monthly jeans days. As your child brings $3 to wear jeans, it literally will affect lives and families that you may never see this side of heaven! We cherish your prayers and support.
