Due to delays with the new sidewalk installation, orange barrels will be placed on the east side of Stacee Lane from Lantana Trail to Blanton Elementary, creating a four-foot wide walking path on the roadway, according to Fresh Water District representatives. District officials have said the permanent sidewalk should be complete by the end of the week. Children living south and east of Lantana Trail should use the marked crosswalk at Lantana Trail and Stacee Lane. They will then be directed across Stacee Lane to the temporary walking path to the school. Crossing Guards are needed to monitor the Lantana Trail crosswalk and Stacee Lane Bridge. Call Valerie Boles at 214-636-4367 to volunteer. "Until we have residents step forward and volunteer, those locations will not have crossing guard supervision," said Boles. The sidewalk installation is being overseen by the Lantana Fresh Water Supply District. Call the district office at 940-728-5050 with any questions or concerns about the project.
