Steroid funding still very important

It never ceases to amaze me how some people can�t see past the negative.

According to a story from the Associated Press on Tuesday, Texas officials have decided to once again cut back on the current program that tests high school athletes for steroids -- essentially trimming it by $250,000 from its previous $1 million price tag.

Were these ESPN baseball analysts dropped on their heads as infants? Did a bunch of players go out this offseason and take a collective leap down a flight of stairs? If not, then someone needs to give everyone involved in these �foolish� debates a swift reality check in the rear end.

For me it’s the same anxiousness every year. You get to the beginning of August and you start to think about all the events coming up soon. Volleyball is bearing right down on us with tryouts set to begin as early as next week. Scrimmages start later that week followed by the first regular-season game during the second week of August.
